Laila and the Firegod is a visual exploration of an original Feature Film Musical inspired by Indian culture & my love for Bollywood movies that  I am currently developing during my Mentorship with Will Weston.
It is not a finished project yet so a big part of the following works are still  work in progress.
The firework stand that Lailas family has made their fortune with for decades has stopped making money. Nobody is interested in traditional fireworks anymore.
Desperate to help her uncle, Laila goes to the temple to pray to the local firegod. But he seems to not accept any offerings and even worse than that:  Laila accidentally sets the temple ablaze when a few spare fireworks in her bag mysteriously catch fire...
Trying to make up for her mistakes Laila sets out to visit the firegod herself after overhearing the village spiritual leader mention it as a last resort for help.
Laila meets very trustworthy boatsmen that are not suspicious at all...
After finding the firegods lair,  Laila is surprised to find herself in some sort of lobby inside the cave. And why is there a merch stand?
The mighty firegod turns out to be more of a showman than a god in duty and surprises Laila with a fantastical performance together with his sheep companions that are dancers, servants and fans all at once.
Since the story is still in development, the character design is also not entirely set in stone yet.
